About
Minor Relics makes tin cardholder wallets. Slim metal cases, hinged, with a sprung band on each side. They hold cards, folded notes, and a set of wired earbuds.
The object
The form is old. Metal cases like these sat in coat pockets and handbags for most of the last century, and they were built to be carried every day for years rather than replaced every season. That part we kept. What we changed is what goes on the lid.
The artwork
Every case carries a design. Woodcuts and engravings that fell out of copyright centuries ago. Belle Epoque advertising posters. Victorian botanical plates, celestial charts, art nouveau panels, Japanese woodblock prints. Work made long before anyone was trying to sell you anything, chosen because we would put it on a wall.
Wear
A relic is only an object that outlived its moment. Yours will pick up marks. The metal will dull where your thumb sits and the corners will soften. That is not damage. Nothing here is meant to stay new.
